Warner Bros. announced this morning that their entire 2021 film slate — which includes features such as Dune, Mortal Kombat, Matrix 4, In The Heights, The Suicide Squad, and Space Jam: A New Legacy — will debut on HBO Max concurrent to their theatrical releases. Each film will stream on the premium network's newly-released platform for one month, after which they'll remain in theaters.

WarnerMedia CEO and Chair Ann Sarnoff announced the studio's unprecedented move in a press release this morning, noting that "we know new content is the lifeblood of theatrical exhibition, but we have to balance this with the reality that most theaters in the U.S. will likely operate at reduced capacity throughout 2021."

The expected slate of 17 films, heavy on sequels and remakes, also includes The Little Things, Judas and the Black Messiah, Those Who Wish Me Dead, Malignant, and The Sopranos' prequel movie, The Many Saints of Newark. Read Warner Brothers' full statement below.
