Hynes has scored three films since releasing 2019's Angel Pulse, his fifth full-length project as Blood Orange. Aside from Passing, he wrote the music for Queen & Slim (2019) and this year's Mainstream. He also scored the first season of Luca Guadagnino’s HBO series We Are Who We Are, soundtracked the new season of In Treatment, co-scored a Naomi Osaka docuseries, and contributed music to Ryuichi Sakamoto's Beckett soundtrack.
