The new rendition comes on the heels of the song’s pot-stirring music.

Taylor Swift has dropped a new "Sad Girl Autumn Version" of "All Too Well," the final track of her recently released 30-track opus, Red (Taylor's Version). The orginal track got the Swift rumor mill spinning at lightning speed after she shared a video for the song that seemed to many fans a clear re-enactment of her breakup with actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She performed the song on Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

The track was recorded with The National's Aaron Dessner and producer Jonathan Low at Long Pond Studio — the hidden, Dessner-owned, barn-like structure in New York's Hudson Valley where Swift filmed her 2020 folklore movie.

"All Too Well (Sad Girl Autumn Version)," while equal in length, is a slower burn than the 10-minute Taylor's Version take, which in turn burned far slower than its compressed original from 2012's Red.

"One of the saddest songs I've ever written just got sadder," Swift tweeted early this morning, announcing that Sad Girl Autumn had officially begun.
