Jon Batiste’s We Are wins Album of the Year at the 2022 Grammys

The record beat out projects from Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and more to take home the Grammys’ highest honor.

Jon Batiste’s We Are won the Album of the Year award at the 64th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The album beat out competition from Kanye West’s Donda, Taylor Swift’s Evermore, Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR, Lil Nas X’s Montero, H.E.R.’s Back of My Mind, Billie Eilish’s Happier Than Ever, Doja Cat’s Planet Her, Justin Bieber’s Justice, Tony Bennett, and Lady Gaga’s Love For Sale.

Batiste was nominated in 11 categories at the 2022 Grammys, winning Best Music Video, Best American Roots Song, Best American Roots Performance, and Best Score/Soundtrack for Visual Media in addition to Album Of The Year.
