Interpol have announced the release of The Other Side of Make-Believe, their seventh studio album. Today's announcement is accompanied by new song "Toni." The Other Side of Make-Believe was recorded in London with producer Flood and Alan Moulder. Writing began during the early days of the pandemic with each of the three band mates working individually as they quarantined in different parts of the world. In a statement frontman Paul Banks says the end result may surprise people. "I could focus on how fucked everything is, but I feel now is the time when being hopeful is necessary, and a still-believable emotion within what makes Interpol Interpol."

Interpol's most recent album, Marauders, was released in 2018. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the band's debut Turn on the Bright Lights. In 2020 Banks shared a Muzz album alongside bandmates Matt Barrick of The Walkmen and Josh Kaufman.
