Björk has shared a video for new song "Atopos." The single is the first release from upcoming album Fossora, announced last month. In a tweet about the song, Björk said "Atopos" is "a good intro .... kinda like Fossora´s passport. Sonically a heavy bottom-ended bass world. We have 6 bass clarinets, punchy sub drilling, nesting and digging us into the ground." Check out the video above.

In a second tweet, Björk explained that "Atopos"' lyrics are "inspired by what Roland Barthes described as the unclassifiable OTHER. 'our differences are irrelevant, our union is stronger than us.'"

Fossora is due on September 30. It is Björk's first album in five years and her follow-up to 2017's Utopia. Guests on Fossora include Serpentwithfeet and Indonesian dance duo Gabber Modus Operandi. Björk's children, son Sindri and daughter Ísadóra, have recorded backing vocals while two tracks were written by her late mother, environmental activist Hildur Rúna Hauksdóttir, who died in 2018.

In addition to the new album, Björk has also launched her own podcast. Björk: Sonic Symbolism is a nine-episode series that will cover all of Björk's solo albums leading up to Fossora.
