The Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed the nominees for the 2023 Golden Globe Awards on Monday morning. Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift all received nominations in the "Best Original Song – Motion Picture" category.

Rihanna's song "Lift Me Up" was the lead single for the Marvel superhero blockbuster Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Gaga's song “Hold My Hand” appeared in Top Gun: Maverick, the colossal Tom Cruise-led sequel that's become one of the top-grossing films of all time. "Carolina," a song released by Swift ahead of her 2022 album midnights, can be heard in the film Where the Crawdads Sing. The category's dark horse — and my personal favorite — is "Naatu Naatu," a song composed by Rahul Sipligunj, Kaala Bhairava and M.M. Keeravani from the widely-lauded Tollywood epic RRR.

The full list of nominees, which you can read below, also included three spots for Baz Luhrmann's biopic Elvis ("Best Motion Picture – Drama," "Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama (Austin Butler)," and "Best Director – Motion Picture.")
