Kali Uchis is back with her first new song of 2023, "I Wish You Roses.” After last year's "NO HAY LAY," it's the Columbian-American pop artist's second new solo single since the release of her acclaimed third full-length Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) ∞. Watch below.

Speaking with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Uchis said her new love song was inspired by something all-too-rare: the amicable separation. "I wanted it to be just an overall encapsulation of that feeling of releasing people with love," she said. "And one of my biggest inspirations was this song I used to listen to since I was little, Joe Bataan, I Wish You Love. And since I was little, I always thought it was such a beautiful thing because we hear so many songs about that, the bitterness or the anger or the feeling of wanting revenge or the feeling of wishing things had worked out and not having a resentful attachment to those feelings."

Since releasing Sin Meido, Uchis has collaborated with SZA on a remix of "fue mejor," Omar Apollo ("Bad Life"), Ozuna (a cover of West Side Story's "Another Day In America"), and more.
