When yeule announced their upcoming album softscars last month, Nat Ćmiel described a project focused on personal and generational pain and the efforts to recover from those experiences. "You’re healing from emotional trauma or a physical wound, time never heals a scar completely," they said while introducing the record, which arrives on September 22.
Today yeule has shared “ghosts.” Ćmiel sings of clear blue skies and spectral visitors over campfire guitars that slowly evaporate into an ambient electronic background as the song ascends to its conclusion.
"Love without obsession and an undying innocence, like shattered memories and floating so empty, finally, I am enfleshed after being so hollow..." yeule says in a statement accompanying the new song.
The announcement follows their previously released double single “dazies” and “fish in the pool” as well as the news of a North America tour with SASAMI, which begins in late September. See below for all of yeule's forthcoming live dates.
softscars is the follow-up to 2022's Glitch Princess and was produced by yeule alongside collaborator Kin Leonn, with additional production from Mura Masa and Chris Greatti.
