King Krule provides vocals on two songs on The Sunset Violent, "Boxing" and "Empty and Silent." The recent single "Dumb Guitar" also features. It is the first release by the group that was recorded together since 2017’s Love What Survives. In 2022 they released MK 3.5: Die Cuts | City Planning, a double album recorded separately by Kai Campos and Dom Maker.

Mount Kimbie, who are now a four piece with Andrea Balency-Béarn and Marc Pell joining Campos and Maker, will play shows in Europe and North America later this year, starting in Copenhagen, Denmark in April up to a hometown show in London. The North American leg will then begin in May with shows at New York's Webster Hall and the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles on the schedule.
