james K announces Friend remix album with Objekt, JASSS, and more
The artist-producer will also be playing her biggest shows yet in L.A., New York City, and San Francisco this May.

Today, New York City-based pop experimentalist james K is announcing a remix album to her acclaimed 2025 album Friend with some of the buzziest artists in electronic music: Objekt, Roza Terenzi, Priori, JASSS, K Wata, and more.
Alongside the announcement, james K is sharing two singles from the remix project: one by UK-raised, Berlin-based producer Objekt who remixed the track “Play," and another by Barcelona-based producer, JASSS who crafted a psych-leaning redux of "N’Balmed."
"Friends remix 'Friend,'" K shared via a press release. "It is such a sweet honor to have my friends and collaborators, whose work has inspired mine, interpret and translate this work into new narratives.”
“I haven’t done a remix since 2015, but when Jamie asked last year if I would remix a track from her LP it felt like the time was right," said Objekt. "I was drawn to 'Play' in particular because of a nagging sense that the melody had another, darker side to it that the original arrangement belied – I couldn’t stop thinking about how it would sound re-harmonized, with the vocal re-contextualized over a moody, slinky pop-dancehall version."
The full remix project will be released on April 24 via AD 93.
