B0YG1RL know how to drive a dancefloor crazy. The omnivorous electronic duo specialize in a blend of Miami bass fused with more regional dance music like baile funk, Haitian konpas, and dembow riddims. While that combo of inspirations might feel familiar to fans of the EDM circuit, B0YG1RL’s music is refreshingly raw and off-kilter. Their March EP 777 was an all-gas-no-brakes riot of fizzing synths and killshot basslines, including the white-hot single "Je M’appelle Tété,” an easy contender for song of the summer. It’s no surprise the Novagang affiliates count Ninajirachi, Frank Dorrey, and Nick Leon among their growing list of fans.

Singer-producers June Vinette and Angela Rio are back with a new EP titled EXIT 2B. Named for the offramp to Biscayne Boulevard in Miami, their latest taps Isabella Lovestory and KAY NIVE$ for hard hitting features. But the pacing has shifted from 777, folding in a couple downtempo and lower decibel songs (“Burn,” “Take Me Home”) in an effort to ground their redlining peaks. And there’s a bit more variance in the bangers here too, twisting from the bludgeoning 808s of “My people will destroy you” to the percussive shuffle of “Declaration.”

“Soleil” with Isabella Lovestory is the tape’s clear standout, Vinette’s bratty hook providing a springboard for Lovestory to get delightfully haughty and brash: I am the sun, the pair chant back and forth. But don’t sleep on the woozy lurch of “Burn,” where Vinette’s voice surges and recedes like the tide over a plucked guitar line and booming drums. As the duo’s star continues to grow, expect to be hearing a lot more of EXIT 2B in the club this summer.
