In all the talk about Gucci being totally wild and out of control because he got a dessert tatted on his face, it seems like we’ve overlooked the concept that maybe it’s not necessarily THE END OF GUCCI MANE AS WE KNOW IT, and instead just a dude reacting to getting famous and trying to figure out if people want him rapping over ominously minimal Zaytoven beats or big budget collaborations with Mariah Carey (the answer is actually a little bit of both, with heavy emphasis on the former, and the latter only if it makes sense). Yet, just about everything he’s released since getting the tattoo has been more of what we love about Gucci—which is his ability to turn even the most stock of stock beats into something worth checking out, which is what he did here. Also, welcome back OJ! It’s been awhile.

As a hip-hop fan, I am more certain now than ever that if THIS song is being hyped by Fader, the genre is nothing more than a rotting corpse in the grave.
OJ kills this.
