With just a light touch, the TNGHT producer takes the Scottish soul star’s simmering hit up to a full boil.

Hudson Mohawke has given Paolo Nutini's "Iron Sky," a hammy, would-be Bond theme off the Scottish neo-soul star's Caustic Love (ask your mom about him), an epic remix. He comes in with a light touch, leaving the original vocals intact, meanwhile sewing in some skittering electronics and kicking up the drums just so. But it makes all the difference to cut the melodrama and imbue it with the more manifest emotion it had been reaching for. For more on the much buzzed about producer's upcoming solo album, work with Kanye West, and the lessons he's learned from Rick Rubin, check out the recent conversation he had with FADER's Matthew Trammell for Beat Construction here.
