Luke James Joins Trakgirl And Alex Diiamonds For New R&B Burner

The New Orleans native gets intimate in his latest song, “Bad News.”

February 16, 2015

We last heard from young R&B singer-songwriter Luke James this past fall, when we spoke with him about his desire to craft timeless music instead of following current trends. He made it abundantly clear that his focus was on playing the long game and, to that point, five months later he's back with "Bad News," a moody slow burner produced by Trakgirl and Alex Diiamonds. Their brooding drums and dark atmospherics create the perfect foundation for James to show off his impressive range.

"It's a song about "erotic tension," James told The FADER. "With living, creating and performing, I've become more comfortable with relieving my sensuality through my artistry." Trakgirl also shared some of her thoughts about the cinematic nature of the track. "Music is the perfect way to portray stories," she told The FADER. "'Bad News' just feels good through the ambience and open sounds. It's like a movie to me. It keeps getting better and better." Dive in below.
