Watch Pharrell’s “Freedom” Video

The unofficial anthem of Beats 1 gets a visual treatment.

July 22, 2015

Pharrell's "Freedom" was first used to soundtrack an ad for Beats 1 radio, and the station has been pushing the song heavily: "Freedom" received more plays than any other song during Beats 1's opening week. After teasing the clip for the track last month, Pharrell finally released the video today. It's a literal-minded visual: when the singer mentions a cheetah, you see a cheetah. The same rule applies when he mentions flowers, whales, babies, and the night sky. The song appears to encourage workers hammering stone in a forced-labor camp to rebel against their captors.
