Mary J. Blige will get her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Variety reports. The ceremony will take place next week, on January 11, and her new honor will be bestowed by Sean Combs, who's now going by Love, along with Hollywood Chamber president and CEO Leron Gubler.
“Mary J. Blige is one of the most popular singers of our generation," ceremony producer Ana Martinez told Variety. "Fans will be thrilled to see her star on the Boulevard as her career milestones are celebrated on this very famous sidewalk."
The R&B legend has won nine Grammys and received 31 nominations over her decades-long career, and was recently nominated for several awards, including a Golden Globe, for her role in the Netflix original film Mudbound. This year, she'll produce the upcoming scripted drama 8 Count for Fox, serving as the show's music adviser as well.
