Raphael Saadiq shares “Glory to the Veins” featuring Ernest Turner

One of my most anticipated releases of 2019 is Jimmy Lee from Raphael Saadiq. It's the R&B maestro's first album in eight years, and he's already bringing the heat, first with "Something Keeps Calling" and now "Glory to the Veins" featuring Ernest Turner. Dominated by sludgy bass lines, the finger-picked guitar and Saadiq's voice add enchanting sparkle to the mud. A press release states that the song is a third-person study of addiction, and Saadiq's lyrics paint a poetic picture of paranoia and despair: "There's too many people walking behind me / I need you beside me, please come and find me." Listen below on Apple Music. Jimmy Lee is out August 23.
