Iceage share new song “Gold City,” announce 2022 tour

The band’s new album Seek Shelter is out on May 7.

In just over two weeks, the world will finally receive Seek Shelter, the new album from Copenhagen-based rockers Iceage. The songs released so far have suggested no end in sight to the group's shapeshifting tendencies: "Vendetta" sounded straight out of early '90s Manchester, "Shelter Song" was an anthem in the vein of Spiritualized, and the stark and apocalyptic "The Holding Hand" was a Nick Cave-esque sermon.

Today we get the latest Iceage track "Gold City," a dusty slice of Americana complete with a harmonica. Have a listen above. In a press statement, band frontman Elias Bender Rønnenfelt had this to say about the song: “At home and enraptured in the fleeting moment, the sky becomes technicolor in its makeshift lucidity. A culmination made so that everything felt briefly complete. Traffic lights and the setting sun through a polluted filter, shimmering and golden.”

Seek Shelter is out on May 7. The band has revealed a clutch of 2022 tour dates, which you can see below. If you can't wait a year to watch them perform, Iceage will perform Seek Shelter in full for a live stream on May 22, 2021.
