If there's one thing The Game lacks, it's focus. Usually seems like he's trying to cram in as many different references as possible into any given album or song at all times, so what comes out is a mess of quoted lyrics and songs halfway about his kids but also halfway about LA and maybe sometimes some other stuff. There's nothing necessarily wrong with this approach, but it can get really overwhelming really fast. The dude is like a living, breathing collage. Here's hoping that his upcoming mixtape produced entirely by Cool & Dre gives him some focus. "M.I.A." chops up Kanye's "Flashing Lights" aka this, and it actually sounds pretty good when paired with his gruff voice. Tentatively promising!
