"Twisted Mirror" is another slow burning contemporary shoegaze track from Austin's Pure X, perfect to stare at your bedroom ceiling and sweat out your stresses to. The cover art reminds me of a movie one of my college professors made. It was all closeups shots of miniature plastic tables, purses and dogs, filmed underwater, little air bubbles jiggling around and popping off. Watching that was a bummer for different reasons, mostly because it was 20 minutes long. Sitting through "Twisted Mirror" on the other hand, is the good kind of painful. Pure X's Pleasure comes out August 22nd on Acéphale.
