Stream Chairlift’s New Album Something

It's been almost four years since Chairlift released Do You Inspire You?, the album that gave them a slightly wider reach when the single "Bruises" was featured in an iPod commercial. While band member Patrick Wimberly was working on a significant chunk of the beats for Das Racist’s Relax, the band was still churning away at making the follow-up—their first with Columbia Records and without former member Aaron Pfenning. Something is indicative of Wimberly and singer Caroline Polachek’s maturity into a range of varied pop. They channel British Invasion guitars with a Phil Spector edge on "Met Before" and take bassy new wave into icier terrain on "Wrong Opinion." The record is out January 24th, but you can take a listen over at KCRW now.
