Jai Paul’s Brother Is Producing For This Promising New London Singer

Jones sings with startling clarity over A. K. Paul’s raw percussion and warm, blunted chords.

I'm only in it for you, sings new London singer/songwriter Jones with startling clarity on "You." Produced by A. K. Paul—Jai Paul's brother and co-writer who's recently stepped out from the shadows while we still wait patiently for something new from Jai—it curls like smoke caught in a shaft of sunlight. A fondness for raw percussion and warm, blunted chords must run in the family. "Immediately fell in love with Anup's intricate sounds when I went to his studio to hear his music," Jones told The FADER. "I wrote the song on an idea he sent me when I was alone at home one night. He heard it and wrote the melody for the bridge. It worked seamlessly." You can say that again: this one slips down like ginger tea on a frosty day. Replay, replay.
