Next April, N.W.A. will be the fifth rap group to make into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. "When we started N.W.A, I couldn't have imagined this," Dr. Dre told Rolling Stone. "I never thought the type of music we were making would receive such a high accolade."

"It's everything that kind of eluded us in a lot of ways when we were coming up," Ice Cube added. "So many people were opinionated about N.W.A. I think everyone now at this point, no matter how you feel about us, understands what the group actually did and what it means to modern music."

Janet Jackson, Chaka Khan, Chic, and the Smiths were among the acts that didn't make the cut this year.
