A Tribe Called Quest celebrated Phife Dawg this morning at an event in Queens' St. Albans Memorial Park. In addition, news broke that a new Phife single and video will arrive tomorrow. "Phife loved his fans, and was so excited for them to hear his new music," the rapper's wife, Deisha, explained in a press release. "I feel like he would have wanted it this way."

The new track is titled "Nutshell," and it was produced by J Dilla. "Nutshell" was originally slated to appear on a Phife solo project, Give Thanks.

Half the proceeds from the single's sales will go to the American Diabetes Association and the National Kidney Foundation. "Malik had always wanted to use his voice to raise awareness and formally educate young people about diabetes," the press release noted. "We think this is the perfect way to honor him and contribute. This will be an ongoing relationship with these two great organizations."
