When NBC announced last week that Dave Chappelle and A Tribe Called Quest would be the host and musical guests on the November 12 episode of Saturday Night Live, no one could have known that Donald Trump would win the presidential election merely days before. However, Chappelle and the members of ATCQ provided SNL viewers with the comedic and musical relief that they needed by addressing Trump's win and continuing to speak out for marginalized groups in America.

For their performances, ATCQ played two cuts from their recent We got it from Here, Thank You 4 Your Service project. During their first song "We the People," Q-Tip, Jarobi White, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad took the stage to recite lyrics that directly criticizes Donald Trump's rhetoric. When Phife Dawg's recorded verse on the track started playing, a banner with his face was released while the members proudly danced around the tribute. Watch above. Later on, ATCQ was joined by Busta Rhymes and Consequence for their rendition of "The Space Program." Watch below.
