Young pop impresario CuckooLander graduated college in London a few years ago and almost immediately joined up as a bassist for Charli XCX's touring band. Now she's signed to her boss's imprint, Vroom Vroom Recordings, and is gearing up to release her latest project EP_02 soon. In the video for "Mercury," the singer is trapped in a space doing some impressive modern choreo.

In an email to The FADER, Cuckoolander explained the song's mythological roots. "Mercury is about the power of the mind," she said. "I took inspiration from ancient Alchemy which says "For Mercury is the spirit, sulfur is the soul, and salt is the body." - Paracelsus. The video is directed by Lucrecia Taormina and looks like a futuristic science experiment interpreting the battles that go on in the abyss of one’s own mind with Jamie Neales choreography.”
