Protoje’s “No Guarantee” gets a beautiful video with a message
A Matter of Time is available now.
On the heels of his fourth studio album A Matter of Time, Protoje is debuting the music video for "No Guarantee." The track, which enlists the help of fellow Jamaican reggae artist Chronixx, centers around life's unpredictability and is told through Protoje's speedy patois delivery over a twangy guitar melody, resounding kick drums and echoing snares.
The music video — directed by Dan Regan — takes place in the sunny, sandy beach of Port Royal and, as Protoje says, is meant to show that "nothing in life is guaranteed." "The video treatment pulls on the idea that things aren't always what they seem," Protoje explains. "I wanted to show how life will always go on with or without you, and how it’s important to just love in the moment and cherish those around you."
