Lucky Daye shares Candydrip release date, drops “NWA” with Lil Durk

The follow-up to Lucky’s 2019 debut LP, Painted, is due out March 10 via Keep Cool/RCA.

David Debrandon Brown (Lucky Daye) has announced the release date for Candydrip, the follow-up to his 2019 debut LP, Painted. The album drops March 10 via Keep Cool and RCA Records, and today marks the release of "NWA" featuring Lil Durk, which follows September 2021's "Over" and the record's January title track as its third single.

Born in New Orleans, Brown reached the late stages of American Idol Season 4 (2005) as a 19-year-old. That same year, his family was displaced to Atlanta by Hurricane Katrina, and he moved to Los Angeles shortly thereafter to pursue music full time. After years working as a backing vocalist and songwriter for established R&B acts like Keith Sweat, Ne-Yo, and Boys II Men, he released his first solo two solo EPs, I and II, in 2018 and 2019 respectively before dropping Painted. Last February, he shared a third EP, Table For Two.

"NWA" finds Brown trading slick, casual verses with Durk over a booming trap beat. Listen to the new track above, see Lucky Daye's upcoming tour dates below, and read his 2019 Gen F feature here.
