Toronto rapper Cadence Weapon's fifth album, released in April of last year, won him the 2021 Polaris Prize, beating out The Weather Station, Mustafa, and others for Canada's highest music honor. On March 25, he'll drop a deluxe version of the record featuring six remixes, and today, he's released the second of those. "On Me (Lorraine James Remix)" follows a rework of "SENNA," which originally featured Jacques Green and was expanded to include London grime artist Logan.

James' new version of the track, which features another London rapper, Manga Saint Hilare, replaces Australian producer Strict Face's already glitchy beat with a mangled, staticky creatures that gives the song a new life.

“Loraine James is one of my favorite artists,” Cadence Weapon explains, “so I was overjoyed when she said she was down to do a remix for me. She's one of the most innovative electronic musicians in the UK. Loraine’s interpretation of ‘On Me’ brings out the warped paranoia of targeted surveillance in a more trippy way than on the original.”
