Wizkid shares celestial visuals for “True Love”

The track, which features Tay Iwar and Projexx, is a standout from Wiz’s fourth studio album, 2020’s Made In Lagos.

Four albums and a full decade into his recording career, Wizkid produced a bona fide opus with 2020's Made In Lagos. The record landed on The FADER's 50 best albums list that year, and this past August, he released a deluxe edition featuring four new tracks. Last month, he shared a video for one of those extra cuts, "Mood," and today, he's returned to his source material, adding visuals to "True Love," a standout from the original project.

"True Love" is, in most ways, a breezy profession of infatuation, but the new video — directed by Nabil Elderkin and co-starring Jamaican-Canadian model and vitiligo awareness spokeswoman Winnie Harlow alongside Wiz — unlocks a more tempestuous side of the song. In the short clip, Wiz and Winnie dance passionately at the center of what appears to be a gladiatorial arena somewhere at the intersection of Rome's colosseum and the domed space theater at Manhattan's Hayden Planetarium, oblivious to the time-lapsed sky rushes above their heads. A storm gathers and breaks; night falls and the sun rises, only to drop below the horizon again; and they continue to caress, unstuck in spacetime together.
