Glass Animals have shared a cover of Lorde's 2021 hit "Solar Power." The cover arrives ahead of this weekend's Grammy's, where the British band are nominated for Best New Artist. Spotify has wrangled a number of the nominees in the category to cover songs by artists who have been nominated for the prize in the past. Yesterday we shared Japanese Breakfast's take on "Skinny Love" by 2012 winner Bon Iver.

"I chose 'Solar Power' because in a time when we were all stuck indoors a bit this song made me feel like I was on a beach....we all needed a bit of that!" Dave Bayley of the band said in a statement. "It's a stunning song and then I just had a version of it in my head where it was faster with a gospel choir behind it....so....we made it!"

In addition to "Solar Power" Glass Animals have also shared a re-worked version of their Dreamland album track "I Don’t Want to Talk (I Just Want to Dance)." That track appears alongside the No.1 hit "Heat Waves" on the 2020 record. You can read The FADER's interview with Bayley here.
