In December 2022, 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark was arrested for the murder of Migos rapper Takeoff. TMZ now reports that Clark has now been formally charged with the murder. Clark was indicted by a Texas grand jury on Thursday, May 25, per the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
Clark was released on $1 million bond in January of this year. He denies the charges with an attorney telling Assosciated Press that Clark has a “valid and meritorious claim for self-defense,”
Takeoff was shot and killed in November last year. The fatal shooting took place after an argument erupted outside a Houston bowling alley following what police described as "a lucrative dice game." The Migos rapper was "an innocent bystander" according to officials. He was 28.
Another man, 22-year-old Cameron Joshua, was arrested shortly after the shooting and charged with the unlawful carrying of a weapon.
