Herbie Hancock and Laurie Anderson lead Big Ears 2024 lineup

The stacked card also includes top-billed performances from Adrianne Lenker, Digable Planets, and dozens more.

Big Ears has announced the lineup for the 2024 edition of the long-running experimental music festival. Located (as always) in Knoxville, the four-day event will begin on Thursday, March 21, featuring Herbie Hancock, Laurie Anderson, Adrianne Lenker, and Rhiannon Giddens as its headliners.

Other top-billed acts include Digable Planets, Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, Henry Threadgill, and Sons of Chipotle, with FADER favorites such as Shabaka Hutchings, Mavi, FlySiifu, Jlin, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Unwound, Carl Craig, claire rousay, Suzi Analog, Bitchin Bajas, aja monet, Horse Lords, Joanna Sternberg, and Armand Hammer — as well as billy woods solo — to be found further down the card. Big Ears fixtures Julian Lage, Marc Ribot, Mary Halvorson, Yasmin Williams, and Vijay Iyer will return this year, joined by dozens more avant-garde legends, some still to be announced.
