After celebrating her 31st birthday on Saturday, Solange and husband Alan Ferguson attended the 2017 BET Awards, where she won the Centric Award. "I just want to thank BET for my teenage years, giving me images of queens like Missy Elliot and Lil' Kim and Aaliyah and Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill and Kelis and Reese," she said in her acceptance speech.
Another major highlight of the show for Solange, and for us, was her next level selfie game. Solange made sure to snap a pictures with rap's foremost power couple Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka'oir, who were sitting next to her and Ferguson, FADER Summer Music issue cover star Cardi B, and OGs Lil Kim and Maxwell. She wrote that the selfies were "the best birthday gift a girl could ask for."
The feeling was mutual for Cardi B, who posted her own pic with Solange and called her the "sweetest,coolest person EVER" in her Instagram caption. "This was such a highlight for me," she wrote. "Son I'm wild Gassed!"
