Megan Thee Stallion shared plans to tour in the summer of 2024 behind a new album during a Tuesday, January 30 appearance on Good Morning America. The Houston rapper, who’s dealt with a barrage of harassment and hate in the past three-and-a-half years ever since accusing her ex-boyfriend Tory Lanez of shooting her in the foot in 2020, promised fans that her long-shelved Hot Girl Summer Tour will finally take place this year. (Lanez was found guilty in the case and sentenced to 10 years in prison.)

“Oh, we’re having the tour this year,” Meg told GMA. “The Hot Girl Summer tour is gonna be 2024, summertime. I feel like I’ve never been able to be outside doing my own thing during the summer since like 2019, so this is gonna be the first time that I drop an album on time for the summer.

“I do want to give the hotties the Megan Thee Stallion experience,” she continued, using the fond nickname for her fandom.

Last Friday (January 26), Megan Thee Stallion released “Hiss,” a follow-up to her November 2023 cut “Cobra.” The track contains a lyric that many listeners heard as a Nicki Minaj diss, after the two MCs traded barbs (no pun intended) on X : “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law,” she raps, ostensibly throwing shade at Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty, a registered sex offender. “I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start.”

Minaj responded quickly to the perceived slight, dropping a much more targeted diss track called “Big Foot” on Monday (January 29) at midnight. In the song, she calls Meg a “little beggin’ whore” and refers to her 2020 shooting, rapping, “Bad bitch, she like 6 foot, I call her Big Foot / The bitch fell off, I said get up on your good foot.”
