Netflix recently dropped the strange, hyper-stylised, semi-erotic horror film The Perfection, starring Girls’ Allison Williams. In a wonderful display of brand awareness, the streaming giant enlisted strange, hyper-stylised, semi-erotic Italo disco band Chromatics to perform a song for the film. The mostly-dormant band, who have recently been teasing the release of their five-year delayed record Dear Tommy, covered “Petals,” a track from Hole’s seminal Celebrity Skin, for the film. Listen to the song above.
It’s been a long road to Dear Tommy; first announced in 2014, the record has been discussed and delayed pretty much every year since. This year it’ll be the seven-year anniversary of the release of Kill For Love, the band’s last record. Last year, the band released the single "Black Walls" and announced the album would be out in autumn; of course, that didn't pan out.
